ALN's 2008 FOCUS

The ALN Board has identified four key areas of focus for 2008 that we believe have the greatest impact on livability in Newport:
  • Education
  • Infrastructure and Environment
  • Accountability and Responsiveness of Government
  • Safety of Person and Property
Our efforts are directed towards providing accurate information on these issues to residents in public forums and working with government officials on developing solutions for residential concerns. If you would like to get involved in any of the above issues, contact us!

NOISE AND NUISANCE

Do you know who to call and what information to convey when confronted with late night noise or anytime nuisances? The City of Newport has comprehensive ordinances on Noise Abatement and Nuisances .

Give as much detail as to the type and source of the noise as possible. If your neighbors also suffer, encourage them to notify the police. Keep a written log of each incident. And follow up with your community policing officer as to the disposition View How to Handle Noise Complaint Document Let the police know that you appreciate their help.

And contact ALN if the matter is not resolved
