Alliance for a Livable Newport

Who We Are

The Alliance for a Livable Newport is a diverse group of Newporters. Membership is open to any Newport citizen who shares our goal of improving the city's residential neighborhoods. Neighborhood associations and other civic groups are welcome to join the Alliance.

Mission Statement

The Alliance will Identify and articulate shared issues, develop specific proposals to resolve these shared issues, advocate for legislation and administrative action to implement these specific proposals, and inform Newport citizens of the status of our efforts.

Initiatives

Initiatives Adherence to Newport's Comprehensive Land Use Plan, and Strict enforcement of ordinances affecting our quality of life in residential neighborhoods. The benefit of the Alliance is that there is strength in numbers. The Alliance provides a way for citizens and civic groups to focus the attention of city officials on neighborhoods issues and to develop solutions through the existing political process. The Alliance will raise money to fund its activities but will not require members to pay dues.
