Meet Ron Becker, ALN Treasurer

Ron Becker has been the treasurer and a director of ALN for the past five years, participating in forums and representing ALN at other public events. Ron was born in Rochester, NY, and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. Moving to Boston in 1968, he had a career as an actuary spanning 35 years. Ron and his wife, Johanna, became Newport "weekenders" in 1988 and, after retiring, took up full-time residence here in 2005. He now pursues a variety of volunteer activities, including ALN, serving as a member of Newport's Trust & Investment Commission, serving on the executive committee of Salve Regina's Circle of Scholars and leading Circle of Scholars seminars discussing international current events. He also finds time to indulge interests in reading mysteries and U.S. history books, as well as in gourmet food and fine wines.
